The First Malaysia-UNESCO Cooperation Programme Expert Synthesis Meeting

UNESCO is preparing a series of Malaysia-UNESCO Cooperation Programme (MUCP) Malaysia Funds-In-Trust (MFIT) Expert Synthesis Meeting as part of the synthesis programme to ensure the sustainability of the MUCP-MFIT programme. The overarching goal of the synthesis is to facilitate ready implementation of results by the member states.

The synthesis will be implemented by identifying key findings through expert analysis, customising of knowledge base to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), results of evaluations conducted, key lessons learnt, challenges and most significantly, how to further South-South Cooperation (SSC) at regional and interregional levels using the framework of MUCP-MFIT’s projects.

The synthesis expert meetings will provide platforms for experts involved with MUCP to share comments and inputs. Key findings will also be published to ensure sustainability of MUCP beyond the expiry of the programme. Experts would be selected based on their involvement with the MUCP programme, geographical representation and gender.

Background:

The First Malaysia-UNESCO Cooperation Programme (MUCP) Expert Synthesis Meeting is the first of a planned series of the synthesis programme to ensure the sustainability of the MUCP-MFIT programme. The synthesis expert meetings will provide platforms for experts involved with MUCP to share comments and inputs to be highlighted during the scheduled Round Table Discussion during the 40th Session of UNESCO General Conference.

Key findings will also be published to ensure sustainability of MUCP beyond the expiry of the programme. Experts would be selected based on their involvement with the MUCP programme, geographical representation and gender. All 29 projects (inclusive of 5 up scaled projects with new beneficiaries) will be analysed in order to achieve the objectives.
